Anthony Weiner's Weinerhosen

When the story of Weiner's photo in junk filled briefs broke the other day, my first thought was, "So what!" This certainly wouldn't be the first time a politician had done something totally stupid, and since it doesn't appear that any laws were broken, let's just move on to more important issues.

But, this monumental scandal just won't deflate. What is hurting Weiner the most is lawyering himself up for one thing, and not exposing the truth and junk to the light of day. I mean, his story just doesn't stand up (so to speak) to close scrutiny. At least, not as much close scrutiny as the photo itself.

I don't know about you, but even in my wild and crazy youth I was never...well, hardly ever so drunk, stoned, or stupid not to know if I were posing for a picture in my drawers. And, even if I had, I think I would pretty much know the next day that it was me and my boxers as the mind numbing haze drifted away and the recriminations started pouring in.

I like Anthony Weiner, but I am sorely disappointed in his handling of this situation. Regardless of who sent the picture, it got sent, and no crime was committed. Stupidity, in this country, has yet to be declared a crime. Therefore, in the words of The Big Boehner, "So be it." It don't mean nothin' so let it go.

If it is a picture of Weiner in his weinerhosen, admit it and be proud. It could have been worse.

Case in point:

No Sense 32
