That's what frosts the boys!
These are the same people who gave former president George the Junior eight, that's E-I-G-H-T, years to totally FUBAR this country, and now they have their bloomers in a bunch because Obama hasn't been able to undo the mess left behind by Bush and the Republicans before him fast enough.
Consider this: Bush had a lot of bipartisan support. For instance, he asked Congress for his vanity war and he got it. Obama has no bipartisan support. The Republican teabagger puppet masters have done most everything in their power to derail and defeat anything the President tries to do for the country - up to and including policies the Republicans had been in favor of until Obama said, "That's a good idea. Let's do it!" Seriously, Obama can't even take an a.m. b.m. without some teabag Republican finding fault.
Now these former Obama supporters are looking to the Republicans to save the country from the same mistakes and piss poor decisions that the Republicans made in the first place. I do not understand the thinking of those who are not a part of the 1% supporting the party that favors only the 1%. What makes these people think that once the Republicans have gained total control over this country that they will suddenly develop a conscience and decide to do something for all Americans and not just the monied few?
President Obama is not the best president this country has ever had. He is also not the worst. But even on an off day he is head and shoulders above any of these clowns who are stumbling all over themselves trying to get the Republican nomination to run against him.
As to the state caucuses, "If you are active [in politics], your expectation is that you will meet one or more of the candidates face to face and get a chance to evaluate them personally," said Iowa Republican lobbyist Joe Hrdlicka. "People embrace the process." I think it is simply swell that Iowans among others think this antiquated caucus tradition is a dandy idea, but after months of enduring these Republican bozos trying to out-stupid one another, what's to decide? None of these sideshow performers is fit to be president.
Contrary to what the Republican obstructionists are shouting from the hilltops, the economy is improving and the unemployment numbers are coming down - albeit slowly. Keep in mind, this country gave Bush eight years to create and perpetuate the economic disaster we find ourselves in today. With roadblocks every step of the way, Obama has at least made a little progress in the three years he has been in office; additionally, he got bin Laden and got us out of Iraq.
This country needs to re-elect Obama in 2012 and toss out the "get Obama and damn the country" Republicans. This will give the Republicans four years to look for a candidate with a brain to replace Obama, and since he can't run again the Obama haters will be done with him without sacrificing the country in the process.
Merry New Year, Y'all!

Indeed, it's amazing and disheartening how the Republicans get so many to vote against their interests. Two more consequences if Obama is not re-elected: all GOP candidates have vowed to repeal health care reform, the president's greatest achievement; a Republican president will continue to stack the Supreme Court with reactionaries, with dire national consequences for years to come.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff,
ReplyDeleteWith a Republican controlled totalitarian government in power people like you and I may be outlawed. The tea bag Republicans don't seem to cotton much to progressives.
My bride and I are practicing our Spanish in case we need to escape to Mexico. To think, we used to joke about that.
It's always an honor to get a comment from you.
