Joint Resolutions for Medicinal Use of Cannabis (SJR 1028 and HJR 353) have not been placed on the agenda for any of its committees. It has been referred to the following (sub)committees in the Florida House of Representatives: Criminal Justice Subcommittee, Health & Human Services Committee, Judiciary Committee. In the Florida Senate it has been referred to Health Regulation, Judiciary, Budget, Rules Committees.
A discharge petition would permit a floor debate bypassing the committees allowing the Resolutions to be heard, debated, and voted on.
That's why I signed a petition to The Florida State House and The Florida State Senate, which says:
"We the citizens of Florida call upon the members of the Florida House and Florida Senate to sign a discharge petition to permit a floor debate on the Joint Resolutions for Medicinal Use of Cannabis (SJR 1028 and HJR 353)."

If any substance can ease the pain and suffering of my fellow human beings in their time of need it should be made available to them. I would also hope that if enough states legalized marijuana for medical use that eventually the universal enjoyment of marijuana would be legalized.
This prohibition is way past its prime and needs to go the way of alcohol prohibition. Like alcohol, this prohibition isn't working anyway, so fire up a doobie and sign the petition.
